Why points matter
A 2-point ticket may look minor until it combines with prior points, new-driver status, CDL rules, or insurance underwriting. Six or more points can create surcharge exposure.
Common point examples
Careless driving is commonly 2 points, improper turn is commonly 3 points, speeding 15-29 mph over is commonly 4 points, and tailgating or reckless driving is commonly 5 points.
